Latest Update

The Bundeena Mensshed is alive, well and growing. We meet every Thursday morning from 8.30 onwards ending with a BBQ lunch at around 12.00 and our wood turners are now opening up the doors on Tuesdays around 12.30 through to 2.30. There are also plans afoot to run other activities on other days!! So the shed is active and open for all sorts of projects and interests. Our members range upwards in age from 48 years old and we are currently working on a number of items. Or equipment is all electrically wired and working, our ‘factory’ able to produce a range of products. Members are encouraged to use the equipment – after appropriate training – both on jobs for the Shed itself and for themselves – i.e. foreign orders are encouraged – it’s all part of our philosophy. Alternatively, you may just want to sit around, enjoy a cuppa, and chat with the other guys. At our Shed, theres no pressure and no one will be compelled to do anything. The aim of our organisation is to give all men the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing by participating in the Men’s Shed movement’ so we encourage all male residents to check us out. Come down to our Shed which is located next to (left hand side as facing the club from the street) the Bundeena Sports and Bowling Club, Liverpool Street, have a chat, a cuppa, a sausage on us and discuss a project you have in mind. There may be that table that you have which needs strengthening, a chair that needs repairing or a toy for a friend you want to build.

Any questions contact our Secretary Deryk on 0408258129. Looking forward to seeing you there.

PS: If members of the Bundeena – Maianbar Community are interested in donating items to the Mensshed all suitable products will be gratefully received.

John Hopkins

11143078_1618177948468707_4856614591504792713_nMiranda resident John Hopkins passed away two years ago. John wasn’t part of our group but didn’t want his tools etc to end up in landfill. His daughter Gemma contacted us and offered us all of John’s tools. Gemma tells me John was always tinkering in his shed and had numerous projects on the go. In recognition of Johns donation we have erected this plaque in our Shed. Thanks Gemma and John
